Promises, Promises

So much for promising to keep up on this blog! What a slacker I have become, or always have been, but whatever the case, I am not keeping up my end of the bargain.
It has been a month since I last posted. Alex turned 13. Yes, 13. Really? Yes, really. I do not really believe it myself somedays. He has grown so much especially this last year. He is 5'6 1/2" and just hit triple digits in weight- something he is very proud of! I can see this growth trend continuing and so can my grocery bill! He had a big 13th Birthday party with a group of guys from school. It was a March Madness theme, and they played basketball and watched OSU play in the tournament. It was a great time.

He has some very generous friends and family- he totaled over $150 in cash and Itunes. He was very thankful and appreciative too.

At the end of February, Celeste became toothless when her two front teeth finally fell out! What a cutie! The right one is coming in faster than the left, but still, I love this grin!

Uncle Chris came to surprise the whole family for Gigi's birthday! It was quite the fun surprise too! We very much enjoyed all our time with him- especially at the family birthday gathering for her.

Everyone was there, all the children, except for Esther. It was really nice to be almost all together again after all these years.

The kids and I decorated for Easter one day and they had a little too much fun with the stuffed peeps.

Also this month, Celeste was chosen as one of the Pet Caretakers for the first grade Guinea Pigs! No, this does not involve bringing them home! Just watering them and making sure they are happy and healthy at school. Her day is Thursday. This girl had to fill out an application and then be selected for an interview. This was what she chose to wear for her interview day. She, of course was hired....you would hire her too, right?!
Easter was in March too this year. So, it too came faster than I had planned. We made some fun Easter treats, and colored some eggs. Then we had an egg hunt at Grandma's. The day before, the older girls and I headed to Cincy for Abby's baptism and then some IKEA shopping. What a day! I didn't get any pictures of that, but here is our Easter.

On Good Friday, we got to see my sweet Grandma who came for a visit. That was truly my highlight. I love her so. She may not know who I am, but the love I have for her, she does. My kids just adore her and they love when she does funny things, like wear an Easter bonnet with them! Family, that is what this life is all about.
It was a glorious Easter. I love my Savior. I am forever grateful for Him. For His infinite sacrifice for us. For rising on the third morning. The Resurrection he began, and the chance we all have to return to live with Him again. Happy Easter!
